Photography is who I am, its integrated into every part of my life, to be able to share my photography with others is a true blessing, to be able to use my passion to capture a special moment or a family member, a favorite local spot or one of our stunning Port Macquarie beaches is one of the most fortunate things in life. I am a photographer, I capture light, I paint an image with light, its who I am.
I am based in Port Macquarie and display a large amount of my work in Sunset Gallery which is located at 2/11 Murray St.
I studied Photography at Port Macquarie Tafe under the watchful eye of Warren Scott from Elaines Photography one of Port Macquaries original and most respected photography studios, I did work experience with Warren and Elaine also, The Port Macquarie News - several times, Prime News, worked at Kodak as a printer in the old camera house in the main street, did on the job training with John and Robyn Cain at the original Agfa shop doing weddings and portraits and then with another local photographer - after helping him get his first minilab into operation and managing it for him, shooting anything that moved..or didn't move, opened or closed and then had my own wedding and portrait business before heading to Sydney town were I managed/overhauled/revamped staff and merchandise for several Kodak Australia retail stores, before heading back to Greater Port Macquarie to grow a family. Its so good to be back doing wedding photography, portraits in Port Macquarie and its surrounds and my biggest passion capturing the wonders we have around us in the beautiful Greater Port Macquarie.
Being a photographer is all I can recall ever wanting to do as a profession, I would roam around the farm taking pictures of pets and scenery and if really desperate id arrange my teddy bears and toys in creative locations around the farm sheds and farm. My first paid portrait job was at the age of 17 and I can still recall the small 4 year old girl sitting on the old metal cream tin by the side of the road with the biggest smile on her face, and then the joy of her Mum when she seen the photos, I was hooked a photographer I was going to be.
I hope you enjoy my photography images as much as I enjoy taking them and processing them, Greater Port Macquarie Images are probably a dominant theme but my childhood days on the farm see me trying to capture rural scenery when I can too.
Life has thrown many a curve ball but one of the solid loves I've always had is photography, the other is a faith in God and a wonder of the beauty he has given us.
I have a passion for light, colour and how it reflects IN the world around us, and how it reflects THE world around us.
We have been blessed with a wonderful place to live, and this is why i take photo's, from my passion for light, colour and the world we live in.
Sometimes my photo's reflect how i feel at the time, and sometimes my photos reflect my core passion.
I hope you enjoy looking at my images, and i hope looking at my images remind's you how blessed we are with the life we have been given and the place we have to live in! :)
